Bergheim
A fictional real estate project about withdrawal, control, and the desire for protected freedom.
BERGHEIM connects luxury real estate, club mythology, security fantasies, and adult-only living into a speculative brand.
The project is not an offer. It is a condensed view of developments that are already real.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
BERGHEIM makes visible how closely luxury, security desire, gentrification, social withdrawal, and adult-only lifestyles already sit together.
The fictional brand does not simply promise housing. It promises distance: from noise, everyday life, public space, children, social friction, and the unpredictability of the city.
What may seem like exaggeration is a sharp reflection of real desires: for protection, control, exclusivity, and a kind of freedom that appears to be available only in private.
WHAT BECOMES VISIBLE
A PROJECT BY
Robert Schaefer
BERGHEIM was created by Robert Schaefer during a year of distance from Berlin, while travelling through cities where security, luxury, inequality, and withdrawal often sit visibly close together.
From that distance, Berlin’s own contradictions became sharper: its club mythology, its real estate pressure, its promise of freedom, and the growing desire to protect oneself from the very city one wants to belong to.
BERGHEIM is his way of turning that observation into a fictional brand.
